Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Ate here the first night I was in town, and I wasn't too impressed. It has that slightly creepy vibe you get from places with decorations that look as if they were bought up at an estate sale from some old guy who had a carnival fetish, but it's safe enough so long as the kids aren't left unattended. Ok, i'm kind of joking there on that last bit but I digress... If the tomato sauce is homemade, someone needs to help the chef. Also, it's the type of pizza that--regardless of what you order on it--looks the same and probably tastes the same. Our server didn't understand our question about the mushrooms (Q: Are the mushrooms fresh? A: Yes) because they were canned and rubbery. Having said that, she was probably 15 or so, which regardless of place lowers my expectations considerably...which is only fair. Not that this place would strike anyone, including the owner and employees, as a place that's striving to provide top-of-the-line service. The cheesebread was ok, but the sauce that came with it had obviously been sitting in the open air for quite a while. You know how some foods will create that 'I've been sitting out waiting for you' crust that you break through to 'fresh' ingredients? That's this stuff. So, bad on the chef or whoever let that one go out. As others have stated, the pizza was very greasy and mostly bland. It wasn't the worst pizza I've ever had, but it's got a ways to go before it gets to the "good" category. Someone mentioned late-night and I have to say that this is PERFECT late-night pizza. You're not going to be worried about taste anyway because you're popped out of your gourd, it's greasy, and it's hot. Maybe that should be a tagline for them somewhere? Seriously though, I hope they improve the offerings. It's in a nice location, and they deserve to do better (and to produce better pizza). Educate your servers too. Starting early is never a bad idea.

I lived in Mt. Vernon for a while. The pizza here was horrible. All the locals raved about this place, but I found better pizza at the gas station. All the help seemed to have just started the day I was there. (Me: Do you have any carry out menus? Teen girl: Carry out? Well....we have carry out pizza, is that what you mean?) Anyway, I won't miss this place.

This is a highly underrated pizzeria/restaurant in my humble opinion!...Wife and I eat there about two or three times a year and have always enjoyed it...I most always order the "calamari" soup which I find about the best I've ever had!.. I gave it four stars because I feel that this place has the kind of food that I was brought up on!.. Another PLUS is the free parking at the end of the block which makes going to this restaurant very very easy about worrying where to park your car. Street parking has never appealed to me when going to a restaurant. I can hardly wait to visit this place again!!...

Just abysmal. Eat here at your our own risk. While it is cheap, and when you have to make due with the nastiness that is the Sodexho food plan at Cornell and nothing that stays open late, I know it is tempting. But trust me, it's still pretty gross and forgettable. Greasy, flavorless, fatty, crap. And the service is often way too obnoxious. I realize you are a poor college student and are hungry, but please; Just say no. People only eat here when they are broke, starving, desperate, and drunk-as-a-skunk for a good reason.

5 Stars for being the local Pizza place in a town with no late night food for drunk college people. Cheese bread, and some huge pizza for not a lot of money, and delivery to campus, which was a rarity in town. Minus one star for greasy pizza, that now i would look on with fear and loathing. Minus one star for "nacho" pizza. think cheese pizza with nacho chips, salsa and I think ground beef on it. Lord, Italians AND Latinos beware the Nacho pizza, its like a burrito with corn in it, it just ain't right!

Not from Mt. Vernon, but I've eaten here a few times over the years and am surprised by the scathing reviews. Crust is airy but appropriately crispy, cheese and toppings aren't any greasier than most other pizza places ... I feel like they do a pretty solid job here for a small town joint. Could have been a bit cleaner, but overall was an enjoyable experience. Service was quick and helpful. Mural on the wall is unique. Also, if you like beer with your meal ... $5 pitchers! Can't beat that. Feel like a qualifier might be helpful here considering my review might be an outlier: I've had my share of za's all around ... Chicago, NY, Rome, Detroit, Venice and most places In-between ... So I'm not a mouth breathin Pizza Hut big box snarfer. Give this place a shot.

The decor itself is awful. The left side of the restaurant is covered in this kitschy mural of a fantasy kingdom. The painting is peeling, it looks abused, and is altogether unpleasant. The tables are rickety and old, the stain is fading away in patches. The floor isn't particularly offensive, but it could do with deep cleaning and a good buff and polish. But thankfully I didn't come for the decor. My date and I ordered the garlic cheese sticks as an appetizer, a medium 2 topping pizza, and dessert sticks. The garlic cheese bread was ok, nothing amazing or particularly terrible. If it had six instead of five slices of bread that would have been nice, but otherwise it's edible. The pizza crust tastes odd. It's not bad, but again it's not particularly good, it tastes a bit stale and it's greasy. We ordered pepperoni and sausage, and when we got the pizza we didn't see any meat. The meat was hidden under a layer of plasticine cheese that tasted ancient and faintly moldy. The pizza had very little sauce, and it also lacked flavor. It tasted somewhat like ketchup, and it was in dire need of pepper and salt. The dessert sticks were by far the best thing about the meal, as they were covered in a layer of cinnamon and some kind of frosting. The color was ok, but most of the frosting arrived stuck to the cardboard container. The dessert sticks dried up pretty quickly, and became stiff. That was very unpleasant. Overall, I would not go on a date there again. However, under times of great hunger and during crazy finals, I might order the dessert sticks.

If you are a student at Cornell, save your money. The pizza served on your meal plan is much better than the pizza here. It's greasy and somehow manages to both be bland and have too much oregano at the same time. I once made the mistake of eating in here and the only person working there looked like she was in her early teens. It took almost an hour to get our salads (which were brown, wilted, and nasty) and then another 45 minutes or so to get the first of our pizzas. They seemed to just forget about us, even though there was only one other group in the restaurant. It took another 20 minutes after the first pizza to get the second one. I would have been much happier eating a premade pizza from Gary's than this and it would have been much faster. The short: don't bother. Go use your meal plan or buy a pizza at the Ratt.

Pizza Palace is small place, but packs the coolness in thier decor. One wall has a mural of a made up kingdom. Looks cool. Then you have other midevil decor through out the restaraunt. The juke box is so old that it won't even take dollar bills. You do get 10 songs for 1 dollar, which is cool. What is not cool is the song selections. I think you get to pick from about 30 songs which in my opionon kind of suck, oh well. I ordered a medium thin crust pizza. It was so good. It was also a very generous size medium. Free refills on your soda pop. Good atmosphere = A great place to dine at.
